Russia will hold a nationwide vote on constitutional reforms on July 1 that could extend the rule of President Vladimir Putin until 2036.The changes would reset Mr Putin's presidential term tally to zeroThe original vote, which had been set for April 22, was postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Mr Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov became the latest high-profile Russian official to be diagnosed with coronavirus in April. But critics have dismissed the vote as a constitutional coup, which they fear will be rigged, and urged voters to stay away or to reject the proposed changes.
