More than 200,000 Victorians are waking up to life without a job for at least the next six weeks, as the Andrews government again shuts down the state's economy in a desperate attempt to stem the tide of the pandemic. The list of businesses allowed to remain open through stage four includes supermarkets, bottle shops, pharmacies, banks, newsagencies and petrol stations.

All retail stores will be shut from 11:59pm on Wednesday, as well as hairdressers, cleaners and car washes for at least the next six weeks, and construction work will be significantly pared back. Premier Daniel Andrews is expected to announce even harsher penalties for anyone who tests positive to coronavirus and breaks their isolation period. Image: News Corp Australia

You need to learn to live with the virus, you cant shit down a state each time there is an outbreak, the virus isn't going anywhere for years to come, if ever! We cant even get rid of the Flu with a vaccine, and we dont have a cure for the common cold.

They do have jobs, albeit on hold in an attempt to stay healthy and alive. Many others haven’t worked since March. Get over yourselves 😡

spri gst Michael O’Brien says it would be business as usual if he was premier.

Why does continue to politicise the pandemic when unity and cooperation is more important to the community’s lives & livelihoods. Because dear reader they don’t give a damm about the community.

Waiting up with paid leave too.

Not as grim as seeing your parents get it. life is not supposed to be the same during a pandemic.

Excellent Holiday time.

we pray for ya all victorians

But they are waking up. If no lockdown there would be many who would never wake up again

This is why they disarmed us.

Dan the lock down King, how many can he have in the next five years.

Spin it as much as you like it WAS Dans Stuff ups that caused this Crises today

Oh my goodness Australia, 136 people dead in a 7 month period, in a country of 25.5 million. This has NOTHING to do with a damn virus. We are being played by a new world order roll out of Fabian socialism. Turn to Jesus NOW, time is running out.

You have to destroy the place to save it

My question is, why isn’t the government of AUSTRALIA making job keeper available to the new people that have had to be stood down!?!

DRAMATIC TWEET!! The Federal LNP government has all the money it needs to support ALL Australians through this crisis. As LukeWMcGregor articulates in this brilliant 5 min clip on how government financing works.

Let me fix... 'More than 200,000 Victorians are waking up to life without a job for at least the next six weeks due to the relentless undermining of govt efforts to contain the virus by LNP and the media, forcing the Premier to impose harsh restrictions' Fixed!

‘At least six weeks’ ? In UK we were only supposed to have lockdown for 3wks.. 4.5m later...so good luck with that. Lockdown is a lot easier to enter than exit

Get back to work you lazy Victorians

'Never forget' Daniel Andrews is responsible for all the 'heartbreak' | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Paul Murray says the heartbreaking restrictions set upon Victorians on Monday as part of the new stage four lockdowns are “punishments” for the decisions of the Victorian government.\n\nOn Monday Daniel Andrews detailed the lengths of his stage four lockdowns which will turn metropolitan Melbourne into a ghost town for at least six weeks in a desperate bid to slow the spread of the killer coronavirus. \n\nMr Andrews ordered all non-essential workers not to leave their homes from Thursday but promised people they will not need to bulk buy food as supermarkets, grocery stores and pharmacies would stay open.\n\nMr Andrews said all retail had been ordered to close on Thursday with some manufacturing coming to an end as well.\n\n“Bloody hell, think about it, the cleaner that you might have because it’s the only way you can stay on top of things, or it’s maybe the only contact an older member of your family might have – not going to happen,” Mr Murray said.\n\n“The same for the lawnmower man.\n\n“On the second day into a two-week marathon which will be harder than the first, the same chief medical officer … is talking about potentially, if this one doesn’t work, looking at stage five.\n\n“I don’t know what’s more disconcerting, the fact that there is a stage five, or the fact they won’t tell you what stage five is.\n\n“Is that when literally, they’ll weld you inside your house?\n\n“What the heck is stage five going to be?”\n\nMr Murray said private security guards, along with police and ADF personnel, would be involved in policing these lockdowns because “who dare could admit to a mistake that of course lead to a population being locked at home with very few exceptions.”\n\n'Daniel Andrews is the source of all of this,' he said. \n\n'Never forget, a system was in place where the cases where being controlled in hotel quarantine.\n\n“The decisions of the Victorian government have now punished the Victorian people yet again, and that punishment got worse today.
