Sky News host rowandean says the Victorian government’s new “Stalinist” bill will give the same people who ruined hotel quarantine sweeping and unprecedented policing powers.

Sky News host Rowan Dean says the Victorian government’s new “Stalinist” bill will give the same people who ruined hotel quarantine sweeping and unprecedented policing powers. The Andrews government is expected to introduce the COVID-19 Omnibus Measures Amendment Bill which endows particular public servants with the powers of an ‘authorised officer’ to enforce public health interventions.

Mr Dean said the “mind boggles” at these new sweeping authoritarian powers, especially given that the bill entitles the same public servants who failed with hotel quarantine “the powers to run around arresting people”. “This is what happens when you have Lefty lunatics running your government and riddled throughout your bureaucracy; this is what you get, disaster after disaster”.

rowandean So true, Rowan, Victoria Parliament bill akin to legislation passed in an East European Stalinist dictatorship. Scary !

rowandean So there are online stories that there have been Hotel quarantine stuff ups all over Australia. And yet we only hear about the ones in Victoria. And people wonder why Rupert Murdoch is a cancer in Aus that we need to get rid of.

rowandean Well done sky. Using the term Stalinist is uninformed and provocative and disrespectful to those who suffered under that regime. Ruperts hacks meeting kpi’s again.

rowandean Advertising person employs the word Stalinist? Stalinist? This is getting too stupid. boycottMurdoch

rowandean

rowandean The problem for Rowan and the journos who write for the Murdoch press, is that most Victorians are with DanielAndrewsMP thus appealing to a minority market. Andrews has 6 years of excellent results, on the back of 4 years of destruction by LiberalVictoria WeStandWithDan

rowandean He needs to go now Rowan. The man has not only had 700 die because of his Fawlty Towers debacles but now he wants to rule with an iron fist with public servants. The man is a serious threat to democracy.

rowandean Oh, Sky News - the one anti-labor media company.

rowandean Liberals looking for new leader

rowandean No! Sky News trying to make trouble for a Labor Government?! Good grief. Who would have guessed? What a tired old 78 your babbling rabble are.

rowandean What, he's going to give sweeping and unprecedented policing powers to Scott Morrison? He's the one who foisted quarantine (a federal responsibility) onto the states who weren't equipped to do so

rowandean you people are thick, it is not up to a right wing nut Job who runs Victoria, don't know who you think this helps but then again Sky has been pretending to be the Victorian opposition, sky where journalism goes to die

rowandean Grifters gunna grift.

rowandean Rowan Dean = arse clown.

rowandean 'Stalinist'? I guess it's coming from Australia's self professed 'Dumbest man' so if he believes it then it must be true

rowandean Not sure many Australians would welcome someone with COVID at the pub they're drinking at, but, yes, their right not to self-isolate should be held sacrosanct

rowandean That's the biggest piece of crap, the most leftist state 😂🤣😂🤣 where have you been, in the dark with the fungi. They put ankle bracelets on people in WA FFS.

rowandean Has Dean seen a psychiatrist yet? Why is he still allowed to spout garbage on TV?

rowandean

rowandean Very CCP

rowandean Australians were very vocal against similar laws in Hong Kong. The federal government is very quiet about this. Why ScottMorrisonMP AlboMP ? Do you condone Victorians being detained indefinitely without charge because a public servants thinks they might speak out?

rowandean You don't stop, do you? The country celebrating dwindling cases in Vic, thanks to premier DanielAndrewsMP and his team and *most* amazing Victorians. Yet you persist with the flogging. You are disgusting. IStandWithDan

rowandean That poor bastard dean is not right in the head.

rowandean Lol, ain't nobody got time for Rowan Dean until he swallows his pride and says ThanksDan

rowandean Just like the bill to extend SOE was passed on deals do with people!!!

rowandean Yeah ok sky news. How about you actually report something unbiased? Oh wait that’s right you wouldn’t know how

rowandean RowanDean is so extremist he obviously doesn’t care how many Victorians die! SkyNewsAust continues to push it’s hard-right Murdoch propaganda .. with its looney propagandist mouthpieces. Meanwhile DanielAndrews stays focused on saving lives. DanAndrewsSavesLives COVID19Vic

rowandean Bill has to be passed by the parliament before it becomes a law. That's how things work in democracy, if not happy move Skynews staff to China.

Sole traders accounting for majority of jobs added | Sky News AustraliaInvestSMART’s Evan Lucas says if you take out sole traders and micro-businesses there were only 2,100 jobs added where an employee was employed by an employer.\n\nAugust’s unemployment rate defied expectations and came in at 6.8 per cent.\n\nTotal full-time jobs added totalled 36,200 and part-time was 74,800.\n\n“So that is the takeout on the full-time side, part-time jobs were a bit different,” Mr Lucas told Sky News.\n\n“Sole trading can be almost anything, what they’re also suggesting is it’s actually online services that have really boomed in August.\n\n“That is why yesterday was so incredible.”\n How many jobs created by public versus private sector? Also, Governments will change “again” the definition of unemployment soon. Mark my words 10% unemployment WILL be the new normal. The more relevant / reliable measure going forward should be Number of Hours Worked.

There has to be a 'progressive implication' on jobs when schemes end | Sky News AustraliaSky News contributor Peter Switzer says he wouldn’t expect great news all the time as there must be a “progressive implication” on jobs when wage subsidy schemes are taken away.\n\nHis remarks come after the ABS released August’s unemployment figures, which came in at 6.8 per cent, smashing economist expectations.\n\n“There was a story out of WA on Monday saying basically 75 per cent of businesses on JobKeeper will come off after September because their businesses are actually doing pretty well,” Mr Switzer told Sky News.\n\n“So I think between now and Christmas there is going to be an adjustment process.\n\n“So maybe a calm before a little bit of rain, rather than a storm.”\n

The quicker JobKeeper is removed 'the better' | Sky News AustraliaAi Group CEO Innes Willox says the quicker JobKeeper is removed the better as Australia is still running “a two-speed economy”.\n\nOn Thursday the ABS released August’s jobs figures showing a decrease in the unemployment rate to 6.8 per cent.\n\nHowever, the majority of jobs added were part-time, meaning fewer hours were worked which results in lower productivity and lower output.\n\n“Although those were really promising figures yesterday, the next six months are going to pretty tough as we come off JobKeeper,” Mr Willox told Sky News.\n\n“People do have to start trying to find their way back into the workforce.\n\n“Employers need to start trying to find ways to employ again.” Dear Australia, I am happy to debate this. For those on Job Keeper / Seeker, The Government WILL NEVER remove keeper / seeker. Yes it will change name, may even reduce a small amount for publicity sake, but they will NEVER remove it. Why? Number of Hours worked WONT recover another Tory sticking their UNWANTED noses into Australian political decisions.. Innes Willox and The_AiGroup do not work in the interests of Australians or Australia. He is an apologist for rent seekers, oligopolies, cartels and donors. Mass immigration wage suppression is his agenda & not building a productive sustainable economy with real jobs and growth.
