Victoria will help bring Australians stranded overseas back home in time for Christmas by re-opening their hotel quarantine. 9News

Discussions between the Victorian Government and Melbourne Airport have taken place, with preparations to manage flights already underway."We should be able to hit the agreed target we agreed to at National Cabinet and it is to have flights returning, people reunited with their families for Christmas," Mr Andrews said.

The final report will deliver findings on the decisions and actions of relevant agencies in establishing the initial program in Victoria, as well as further recommendations."This unfortunate delay is due to the provision of additional material which occurred after the conclusion of closing submissions on 28 September 2020, as detailed at the extraordinary sitting on 20 October 2020," a statement from the Board of Inquiry read.

A third wave?

What about people stuck in the Philippines in areas where they can't get to Manila Aurport, because they are locked down in villages miles from there?

A tight deadline is being set up to get the Commissions recommendations in place before the planes arrive. If we have to face a scenario where family Christmas visits are banned because another COVID wave arrives, no one survives politically.
