Second Victoria Police officer suspended over leak of Dean Laidley photos

A Victoria Police senior constable from the southern metropolitan area is suspended over the unauthorised leak of photos of former AFL coach Dean Laidley in custody on the weekend. The officer is the second to be suspended over the incident and another four people are under investigation.

Victoria Police has suspended a second officer over the alleged leaking of photos of former AFL coach Dean Laidley inside a police station while in police custody., Laidley now faces “seven charges all up”, including: One each of stalking, committing an indictable offence while on bail and persistent breach of a family violence order and four other intervention order breaches.Faruk Orman, who spent 12 years in prison for murder after his own lawyer encouraged a key gangland witness to give evidence against him, is suing Victoria Police for unspecified damages, alleging the force "falsely imprisoned" him."The conduct should not have occurred by the officer.
