Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos says the Andrews government will extend its testing program in order to make it more accessible to vulnerable communities.

The new program targets vulnerable, disabled or housebound Victorians who may find it difficult to go to a testing location. “We are starting a ‘call to test’ program that will enable someone to call our coronavirus hotline, and they will be assisted by a nurse through that hotline and with a GP referral we will go to them”.

Ms Mikakos said the ‘call to test’ service will be free and urged the public to “get tested even if you have mild symptoms". She also announced the provision of new rapid response teams who will increase accessibility by travelling to regional areas and businesses. “We are making it easier than ever before for people to get tested and to get the support that they need”.
