A year ago Vicki Denton was left legally blind in her left eye due to three deteriorating eye conditions.NILS Tasmania, the loan provider, says the number of Tasmanians taking out loans for medical procedures has almost doubled since 2012The single mother of four from East Devonport was unable to work or drive, and the sight in her right eye was declining fast.
Faced with the grim reality of her situation, Ms Denton applied for loans with Tasmania's No-Interest Loan Scheme to self fund the procedures in the private system.
