Johnson says fresh UK lockdown not on cards as COVID-19 cases riseAs advisers suggest that acting early with lighter measures to cut rising case numbers would reduce the need for tougher restrictions later, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says a new COVID-19 lockdown is not on the cards. Johnson also says vaccines don't stop transmission, so allowing vaccinated people to arrive from overseas without quarantining is just reckless idiocy. Especially given the Delta plus strain is 10% of UK cases, and we have zero in Australia. auspol No just a nice fresh variant, Delta+, caused by letting Delta run free in the community, giving time for mutations to develop, and more contagious than Delta.
