US stocks continue steep slide after another trading halt as market reacts to rate cut

Stocks lost more than 6 per cent on Wall Street on Monday as huge swaths of the US economy come closer to shutting down due to the coronavirus outbreak, from airlines to restaurants.Trading was halted within minutes after the open, but the S&P 500's losses deepened after trading resumed

Emergency actions taken by the Federal Reserve late on Sunday to prop up the economy and get financial markets running smoothly again may have raised fears even further, some investors said. To many investors, that meets the definition of a recession, and the question is how long it will last.

Coronavirus update: US adds UK to travel ban, Trump gets tested, Spain's cases spikeThe United States expands its travel ban, Spain records 1,500 new coronavirus cases in a day and Indonesia's Transport Minister tests positive. I hope Trump is okay, I hope Dutton is okay. I'm not their biggest fans politically, but I'd like everyone to walk out of this a little wiser - not tragically dead. I'd love it if everyone could stop politicising this in Australia, including the ABC. Any chance you guys get to stick the boot into Trump, you go for it with no shame. Unbelievable. I think ScoMo and his team gave up on the country already. No matter what they come up with the make up plan, they had taken too long and lost voters’ trust. We are Screwed up. When come to public health, how can a country leader acting like a fool?
