Mr Robinson said successive governments do not plan ahead as they only look at what they do which can “suit them and make them look votable” – as happened with former prime minister David Cameron’s reticence to establish nuclear power.
“We’re not energy self-sufficient, we’re relying on foreign energy, and that’s a problem when there’s a so-called war going on in Europe,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “What we need to do is invest in nuclear, in fracking, and in coal in the United Kingdom, make sure we can provide enough energy for British citizens.”
calvinrobinson All oil generating stations gone and all but 2 large coal gone. Drax is biomass with 2 of its 6 units on coal. Even new CCGT plants have been closed and destroyed. Often replaced with logistics parks or housing. Fields being turned-over to solar farms. Really forward-thinking. 2/
