Twenty years on, J-Lo shuts down the internet again in iconic Versace | melly_singer

Fashion is often criticised for rendering women of a certain age "invisible". But singer/actor Jennifer Lopez shut that down on Friday night, with a sizzling display at Versace's show at Milan Fashion Week.

Still iconic ... J-Lo closes Versace's Milan Fashion Week show in an update of her 2000 Grammys dress. Before the reveal, Donatella Versace, who took over the brand after her brother Gianni Versace was murdered in 1997, announced from backstage a Google search for "Versace jungle dress", and a dome ceiling above the circular runway filled with images of J-Lo wearing the original dress.

"The world had the same reaction: jaw-dropping," Versace said in show notes. "Today we live in a technological world, but back then, one event promoted the creation of a new tool that now has become part of our lives."
