Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and former Liberal prime minister Malcolm Turnbull have blasted the Victorian Liberals for flirting with “fringe elements” of the “hard right”, which they blamed for the party’s devastating election loss.

Mr Andrews did not appear before the media on Monday but Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan was at a construction site for the Suburban Rail Loop in Clayton, where she said the state had delivered a mandate to build the $125 billion project.“The Suburban Rail Loop was a project front and centre of the election campaign, and Victorians very clearly once again endorsed the Suburban Rail Loop project as the project that our growing city and state needs,” she said.

“We need young people, we need change,” said the former Liberal premier Ted Baillieu, who turned up on Saturday, along with former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, to support Mr Pesutto. But Mr Baillieu’s son, Rob Baillieu, has helped to drive the teals’ campaign.

The Liberals have lost the ‘values’ that underpin the PartyFormer Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says the Liberal Party is playing 'defensive' in every election, the question is what is the Liberal Party “strongly in favour of”. “I’m talking about cultural issues, not a bigger road here, a new hospital there, I mean these transactional policies which you have to have,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “But they don’t tell you the core of what the political party believes in. “So, what are the values which underpin the Liberal Party – that’s what been lost.” Yep. Just running 10 steps behind the woke folk. Pathetic. A: Power for the sake of it Maybe policies and cooker free candidates instead of personal crazy attacks would work.
