Jason Humphreys, 39, was arrested at a vehicle stop in Panania in Sydney's south-west on Monday by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad. He was charged with 17 offences including seven counts of sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14, two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14 and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.Credit:Police say the Lurnea man sexually assaulted the girl in Sydney “on several occasions” earlier this month, as well as in a truck last week.

It is alleged the pair then returned to Sydney and went back to the room Mr Humphreys rented in Lurnea, where he again allegedly sexually assaulted the teen.Mr Humphreys began talking to the girl on Snapchat in December and the pair met in February, Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad Commander Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec said on Tuesday.“There is no information” to suggest the man was pretending to be anyone else online before he met the alleged victim, Superintendent Kerlatec said.

"There was a level of grooming, and I won't say sexual grooming at this stage, but a level of befriending and enticing the girl to meet up.Police have also taken an apprehended violence order out against Mr Humphreys on behalf of the alleged victim.

That is why parents should monitor their children activity online. and why there should be an age limit on things like mobile phones before they can be used..
