Morrison also claims his “downsizers” are very different - HIS downsizers are NOT Boomers in expensive 4-bedders, they are 55yo empty nesters but at the same time they are “pre-palliative” 85yos in little post-war houses which are … hang on, little post-war houses are NOT CHEAP
Morrison claims this “policy” is better than previous proposals because people “would” put the $$ back into super, PLUS ALL THEIR CAPITAL GAIN, when they sell that 1st house. So pray tell, HOW do they buy their 2nd house? And - exactly HOW will the payback to super be ENFORCED?
Love his idea that the “downsizers” who will miraculously free up housing supply, people who he said have JUST BECOME EMPTY-NESTERS (hence are only in their 50s), will (he said) NOT be competing for smaller housing because they will be “DOWNSIZING” INTO AGED CARE (IN THEIR 50s)
