Sky News Political Editor David Speers says Greta Thunberg is trying to “shame” World leaders into greater action in order to combat climate change.

The comments come after the Swedish campaigner made a passionate speech to world leaders at the United Nations, accusing them of failing to act on climate change. World Leaders gathered in New York for the meeting, including New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and French President Emmanuel Macron. Mr Speers said Ms Thunberg’s intervention may be “part of a turning point” that sees more protests and activism from young people regarding climate change.

David_Speers GretaThunberg Why should grown adults listen to a 16 year old autistic girl?

David_Speers GretaThunberg No GretaThunberg is promoting world socialism. 'Climate Change' has nothing to do with controlling the climate - it is all about controlling YOU.

David_Speers GretaThunberg They don't listen to scientists, soooo it's worth a shot. And to be fair, most of our leaders should be ashamed. They've forgotten about the future generations in order to win the next election in 3 years time.

David_Speers GretaThunberg I take the Trump viewpoint 😉

Australia should mimic US’ on-shore oil extraction: resources minister | Sky News AustraliaThere’s no “imminent” threat to national fuel reserves in the wake of the drone attacks on two Saudi Arabian oil processing facilities but Australia should be prospecting for on-shore options, Resources Minister Matt Canavan says.\n\nMr Canavan used the United States as an example of the benefits of on-shore exploration. \n\nHe said “10-15 years ago, the US was the largest importer of oil in the world; in the next few years they’re likely to be a net oil exporter for the first time in more than 50 years.”\n\n“That is all due to these amazing technological developments in extracting shale oil and shale gas.\n\n“Given what’s happened in the US, we should also be seeking to apply similar technologies here.”\n\nMr Canavan said Australia holds on average 40 days of fuel supplies. \n\nImage: Getty No. Aust buys inexpensive ready product from Asia's refineries which can buy from Timor, Iran, Venezuela, Yemen, Saudi etc...
