Update: Former Wallaby and Indigenous rugby icon Gary Ella has fired back at 1991 World Cup-winning captain Nick Farr-Jones's view that Australia doesn't have a major problem in relation to 'the discrimination of coloured people' | tomdecent

Farr-Jones, speaking on Ben Fordham's 2GB program on Thursday morning, inflamed the situation with a remark about the treatment of Indigenous Australians.

Another Indigenous Australian rugby figure, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said: "He's dreaming. That's a stupid comment. How would he know? He wouldn't know, he's not Aboriginal. I'm not fussed on the one knee thing but to say we haven't got an issue in Australia is ridiculous." The 63-Test Wallaby, who led Australia to World Cup glory in 1991, said all stakeholders would have to be consulted if the Wallabies team decided to take a knee during the national anthem.

tomdecent Like saying Wallabies don’t have a major problem at Eden Park

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Farr-Jones, ex elite private school boy, mate of the Parrot, a complete wanker. Why does Fitz like him.

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Yeah, the old fallacy: 'I'm a white coloured Australian' 'I don't have a problem' 'Therefore Australia doesn't have a problem with colour' BLM rugby

tomdecent As Mark Ella pointed out, Farr-Jones comments show a shallow understanding of our history. Meanwhile, we have a new Wallabies Captain in Haylett-Petty who clearly understands the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement & more concerned that people switch their brains on.

tomdecent You know Farr-Jones is far right when he makes the statement 'All Lives Matter' as he did in the interview.

tomdecent Fuck Nick Fart Jones, we don't need more i'm better than the fkn rest BS., he's only a footballer ffs & probably had 2 many hard hits like the rest of us who played heavy contact sport as we were growing up. Surely the now Wallaby team still have brains & can make up their minds

tomdecent The Jones boys seem very close ;)

tomdecent Am so disappointed with Nick Farr-Jones! I suggest he looks at the incarceration rates, life expectancy, suicide rates and other social determinants of Aboriginal Australians and reflect on what his white privilege affords him.

tomdecent It’s kind of a mute argument given the 20 years of poor Wallabies performances that the supporters are the hardcore groups. I agree with Farr-Jones these people wouldn’t accept a 100% political act at the start of a game. Also given zero indigenous players in the squad.

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Stick to playing rugby Wallabies...leave the woke virtue signalling to others

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Nick, this week, e.g., it seems WA might do something about compensation to aboriginal families for a history of effective slavery involved when government held salaries of working people 'in trust' but somehow forgot to give it to them for a century or so. Slavery: no problem?

tomdecent if you think 'taking the knee' is a mark of respect and you do nothing else to fix the issues... you are wasting your time. Stand straight and tall for this country and make the changes in YOU and then in society that WILL fix the problems. you cant have it both ways.

tomdecent They didn't with Gary and his brother and Georgie

tomdecent The true colours of Australia rugby's boys' club revealed RugbyAU wallabies

tomdecent I would of thought NFJ was smarter than that. Obviously not.

Shame on Nick Farr-Jones. Sadly so typical of his demographic. I’d actually think of following the Wallabies if they did take the knee for BlackLivesMatter shameonNickFJ nick

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Oh yeah and what was a major contribution to end of apartheid in South Africa huh? Involving politics in fucking sport. 🤦🏼‍♂️

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Imagine being so privileged and white and then thinking you could comment on discrimination? Very disappointed in Nick Farr-Jones.

tomdecent been in the offices Nick Farr-Jones works from - the cleaners were mostly black or brown, none of the lawyers, barristers or even secretaries had anything other than a good tan. Maybe it has changed Nick?

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Who would know better than Nick Farr-Jones the lives of our colored brethren.

tomdecent Gary. Mate 👏👏👏

tomdecent Australia doesn't have 'A major problem with race' - although the media is doing its best to try to make one.. These activists attribute everything to race or sex, because it's all 'they' see, so just assume others are the same.

tomdecent Who asked the question of Two Dads, Tom? Was it you?FFS this is such a BS distraction and will not win any fans over and won’t make any more people go for BLM Why don’t you give us some real rugby articles.

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Spot on Gary . Great response

tomdecent Farr-Jones or Far-Right Jones? 🤔

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Yes Australia has racism. Every country does. Would we need a 1991 world cup captain to tell us this if we had good press in this country. How is this even news. Here's tomorrow's headline. Second prize in 1979s beauty contest says Aus has a race problem. Our gov is corrupt ffs

MikeCarlton01 tomdecent Perhaps Farr-Jones is not the right guy to make that call?

tomdecent Nick showing his true colours, coming from the guy that just blew a hole in side of Australian Rugby through his deceitful letter sure loves damaging the code on his own. He needs to shut up...

tomdecent Farr-Jones is a Hillsong Happy Clapper, enuf said

tomdecent I guess Farr Jones reckons we must have killed them all? Silly bastard!

tomdecent And the disgraceful treatment of Adam Goodes? These ignorant Colonialists refuse to acknowledge Indigenous Peoples pain and disappointment!

tomdecent Racism, like homophobia and ableism are areas where people who do not experience it, should use their good sense, remain silent, and pass the mic to those with lived experience (who represent the dominant views). These uninformed views will be mimicked by equally ignorant others.

'I'm glad I didn't come home': Not all Aussies overseas are desperate to returnThere are four types of Australians who choose to live overseas. And despite a global pandemic, the data suggests most aren't rushing back. They have a fucking house in Hawaii. If they aren’t part of the group trying to return home, then why are they being interviewed on this issue? They even said it never crossed their mind. This is hurtful to those who are stuck with no means of income and trying to pay for accomodation and food. Most misleading click bait of the week lol... TLDR; people who moved overseas 5 years ago don’t want to come back
