Energy Minister Angus Taylor invites states back to the table for energy grid talks | rharris334

that Australia's ageing coal fleet was putting power reliability at risk, with up to 1.3 million Victorian households potentially facing blackouts this summer if no additional supply was secured. It also forecast up to 770,000 NSW homes would face a blackout risk on a day of extreme heat once AGL's Liddell coal-fired power station closed in 2023-24 if contingencies were not made.

"Addressing these priorities together is fundamental to our continued efforts to bring down power prices and ensure long-term energy security for all Australians," he wrote.
