Sydney woman found guilty of murdering her mother and staging a home invasion

A woman found guilty of murder has wiped away tears as she continued to deny strangling and stabbing her mother to death two decades ago.supreme court on Wednesday.“The justice system gets everything wrong.”But after a week of deliberation, the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict.

The trial heard she was found appearing distressed that night, with clothing stained with her mother’s blood and the semen of Carlos Camelo-Gomez, with whom she claimed she was not in a sexual relationship at the time. Camelo-Gomez had entered a “sham marriage” with Carlos’ brother in Colombia to secure his residency in Australia.
