Another excellent example of Coalition Missmanagement!!

Come on Sky, try not to write off the scheme too quickly....fraudsters generally follow the money...was bound to happen given the numbers. The money still reaches the economy, and im sure SComo will miracleise the insurance outcome with the ATO.

OMG Again? How many times can our govt stuff up in the Data/IT department?

HyperBrendan Hang on, was it Stuart Robert who announced it?

What is described is not a hacking - irresponsible journalism

or a good cover story for redistribution of wealth

Shock! Dodgy people cashing in on the worst financial strategy working people could ever use. Unbelievable that the LNP should do this, and I'm not surprised other opportunists have jumped in.

political_alert Trust us....

political_alert “A small number of people appear to have had personal details unlawfully used in a bid to defraud the program. ' so not really 'hacked' then?

Govt 'emotionally blackmailing' Australians to download CovidSafe app | Sky News AustraliaMany Australians have not taken kindly to the government's 'disgusting and demeaning' messaging on its CovidSAFE app, according to Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens.\n\nUsing Bluetooth, the app traces prolonged contact of other users within range for 21 days allowing health authorities to quickly contact people who have been in contact with someone who tests positive for coronavirus.\n\nThe government argues this process will streamline the process of finding contacts who have been exposed to the coronavirus, reducing the time the disease has to spread throughout the community.\n\nPrime Minister Scott Morrison has previously suggested the app needs at least 40 per cent community buy-in for it to be effective and has ruled out making the service mandatory.\n\nHowever, the government has been increasingly linking the lifting of stringent COVID-19 restrictions to the number of Australians who download the app, with Health Minister Greg Hunt tweeting last week: 'Want to go to the footy? Download the app.'\n\nMs Cousens told Sky News the government is attempting to 'emotionally blackmail' Australians.\n\n'Australians are being emotionally blackmailed into allowing the government to trace their contacts, which is a massive deal ... on pain on being effective house arrest,' she said.\n\n'I would actually respect the government more if they bit the bullet and made it mandatory, then at least they would be honest in their intentions.'\n\nImage: Getty They have similar app in India and its useful to track corona cases near you. It’s your right to say no. We won’t be blackmailed!

Until communist China democratises ‘it cannot join the modern world’ | Sky News AustraliaFormer Victorian Liberal Party President Michael Kroger says the dispute between the US and China is both a “cultural and a country clash”.\n\n“You’ve got a repressive dictatorial communist regime in China, clashing against the transparency of modern democratic nations in the west”.\n\nThis comes as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the “Chinese Communist Party did all that it could to make sure that the world didn’t learn in a timely fashion about what was taking place”.\n\nMr Kroger said the US and other western nations are all “expecting a suppressive secretive regime to do what we would do” which is conduct a open and transparent investigation into the origins of the coronavirus.\n\nHe told Sky News host Andrew Bolt, of course the Chinese government do not want to be “fully embarrassed” by a full scale inquiry because it would do “decades of public relations damage at a time when that country is trying to become part of the modern world”.\n\n“Until it democratises, and god knows if that will ever happen, it can’t join”.\n\nImage: AP\n Australia obeying Trump's belligerence - obedience is a virtue of lapdogs We need to stop kidding ourselves about the nature of the PRC: it is a totalitarian dictatorship committed to remaking human society in line with 'Xi Jinping Thought', which is mandated in its Constitution. And, no, I am not making any of this up. And Australia is stuck. Do they appease their geopolitical masters or their number one customer/trading partner.

Implementing a land tax would alter the ‘entire structure of our democracy’ | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Rowan Dean says if the New South Wales government brings in a land tax on primary residences it will change “the entire structure of how our democracy, our property-owning democracy works”.\n\nNSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Treasurer Dominic Perrottet have announced the state-based taxes of payroll tax and stamp duty will be removed which will relieve the financial burden on many in the state.\n\nHowever, Mr Dean said although this announcement was “terrific” something has to replace stamp duty and there are only two ways to reform the tax system, either through raising the GST or implementing a land tax.\n\nHe told Sky News host Paul Murray, the premier and treasurer need to “level with us” and admit they’re considering a land tax to replace stamp duty.\n\n“Are you planning a land tax, because if so, you need to take that to the electorate”.\n\nA land tax would mean “you never ever own your house, the state always has a finger in your pocket,” he said.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia We already pay local land tax, we are top heavy with Gov departments trim them back and save millions, we need efficient management not more taxes on the struggling public.
