The Australian Federal Police will lead investigation into the price gouging of rapid antigen tests across Australia. 7NEWS

If an individual or business buys RATs from a retailer, like a chemist, and then sells those RATs for more than 20 per cent of what they were purchased for, they will face criminal charges under the law.The individuals or businesses could also be forced to surrender the RATs, which will be sent to the National Medical Stockpile.

Australian National University emeritus criminology professor Roderic Broadhurst told AAP a squeeze on supply creates opportunities for criminal entrepreneurs, who are already well equipped to distribute. Despite wholesale RAT costs being up to $11.45 a test, the agency said prices for the kits are often retailing between $20-$30 and are priced much higher through smaller outlets.

'Unlawful greed': AFP to investigate price gouging of rapid antigen testsTwo investigations in Queensland and New South Wales have already begun after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission referred cases of price gouging. I can sell my wares AT ANY PRICE I SO CHOOSE. The AFP can shove it up their ass. If I sell them for $1 or $100000 that's my business. Don't like it? That's fine. Shop elsewhere. Federal police couldn’t find any evidence when they investigated the lies Angus Taylor federal MP said about the Mayor of Sydney clover Moore couple of years ago. 🔥🔥🔥Nothing will happen, we introduced a petrol commissioner to do this with petrol. Nothing changed!
