A sexually abusive stepfather whose young victim killed their baby after giving birth alone in the toilets of an outback caravan park 25 years ago, has been handed an eight-and-a-half year jail term. The man started abusing the girl when she was just 11 years oldThe man, who is now 56 but can not be identified, admitted having a sexual relationship with the girl that started when she was 11 and continued even after she told him at 14 that she had given birth to his child.

Investigators called him "Rijul" which means innocent in Hindi and he was buried in a service at the Kalgoorlie cemetery. The identity of the baby and his parents remained a mystery until last year when the mother had her fingerprints taken after she was arrested for an unrelated matter in another state.

DNA tests confirmed the victim to be the mother, but when first interviewed by cold case detectives she still did not reveal her abuse and instead claimed she was "promiscuous" at the time and had slept with 20 or 30 men.
