Sky News Senior Political Reporter Trudy McIntosh says the politics for the coal and gas cap is shifting to “compensation” from the federal government with many states calling for reimbursement.

“An interesting shift from New South Wales Matt Kean … saying we don’t want competition for coal royalties, we want compensation for households and families,” she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Either way tomorrow you imagine the Prime Minister going to be facing a few states who say show us the money.”
