The Australian Reptile Park said male funnel-web spiders leave their burrows in search of a mate and can sometimes end up in homes or gardens.
"The Australian Reptile Park is encouraging responsible adults to catch wandering Sydney funnel-web spiders safely and asking for any collected spiders to be brought to the park or one of the participating drop off locations to contribute to the lifesaving antivenom program," the park said in a statement.
Since the introduction of the program, there has not been a single death due to a deadly funnel-web bite.Reptiles and Spider keeper, Sam Herrmann said the public needs to remain vigilant, aware and safe when dealing with funnel-web spiders. He advised people to not leave washing and clothing on the floor and if you leave your shoes outside to give them a tap before "putting your foot in blindly".Sydneysiders are urged to be careful around the dangerous spiders.
They are so cute
Quick, quick. Buy toilet paper and head for W.A.
They will inject you with covid and you will die
Ridiculously alarmist
Nothing new here. 🤣
I have holes all over my backyard. I know the little buggers are in there😂
And these things can stay in Sydney too.
😳
Finally a warning other than Covid
I don't like the way they play dead and then they jump a mile
That's not even a funnel Web 🙄
Yep, found one in our backyard last week.
We know!! Ffs this isn't news.
Or you could spray with the anti bug pest thing and just wear shoes outside. The buggers are obvious because of the visible holes they make.
What is it about Australia and their freaking monster bugs!!!
🤭👀😳😳😳
a lot of them are out i have noticed, specially around the Murray River of NSW
Bring back the ring of steel Dan
May be stock up on Antivenom
So we should stock up on mortein?

Bull sharks spotted by fishermen in Sydney HarbourA group of young fishermen has found bull sharks swimming in Sydney Harbour - not far from the water&x27;s edge. We used to swim in the Hawkesbury river as Children, and until recently didn’t know about the sharks. Apparently they are making a huge comeback because the water is not as polluted, which equals more fish. Overall, shark sightings are positive, unless, you lack awareness. Wow! How is this news lol seriously?
