At 1.15pm, the bureau warned that severe thunderstorms, moving towards the east, were detected on the weather radar near Sutherland, Sydney Airport and Campbelltown. The storm is expected to bring large, possibly giant hailstones and heavy rainfaill which may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds, the bureau warned.
Between 9.30am and 11.30am, Ulladulla recorded 108.9 millimetres of rain, while Moruya received 73 millimetres in the three hours to 10.50am.
