At least 18 vehicles have gone up in flames after a grass fire broke out at a racecourse in the Grampians on Sunday.

It forced patrons and horses to evacuate at around 1:30pm – with firefighters taking

roughly an hour to extinguish the blaze.The Great Western race meeting was subsequently cancelled.
