A student gunman has opened fire at a university in the Russian city of Perm, killing five people and injuring six others, law enforcement authorities said

.

Students jumped from first-floor windows to escape the building, landing heavily on the ground before running to safety, local media video footage from the scene showed. Video reportedly shot by a student from inside a building appears to show a black-clad gunman wearing a helmet and walking on the grounds carrying a rifle-like weapon.
