A group of scientists have signed a statement demanding the government act immediately to reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.

The 250 signatories, who are experts in climate, fire and meteorology, warned the government that there are greater issues emerging than the fires due to land and ocean heatwaves.

Parliament is preparing to sit for the first time this year and the scientists are encouraging them to engage meaningfully with international agreements. Image: News Corp Australia

What is their field of science and names please

Did they sign in the Maldives? Under water?

Of course they signed it! If it means continuing their tenure, I’m not surprised!

Mickey Mouse? Wow

Have they signed a statement demanding China reduce their greenhouse gas emissions? Given they are at a level 20 times those of Australia, I think China would be a better place to start.

Explain to me again how it will influence the WORLD climate

Cult scientists

As long as Mickey Mouse and Dumbledore have also singed it then it’s credible.

Group of well paid mercenary scientific scum

Who's on this list, Mr dropbear, Skippy and fatcat ?

These scientists would be like the group of fire fighters who said the fires were caused by global warming as per the left agenda. They must be devout lefties doing the bidding of those who control.

Well can these “scientists” tell us what difference will reducing our 1.3% of world global emissions make to the climate? Well I can you , Fucking none!.

I wonder how many of these scientists funding relies on climate change being a thing? Here's THE thing though, yes, average temperatures have slowly increased, and it's a 'change'.. but stop with the BS that it's an emergency and we're all going to die in x yrs crap.

And achieve nothing. Are theu truly scientists.

Why? Because their funding is running low?

just ignore them

Over 32k says BS here

In a economical way or pissing in the wind way .

Those crazy knuckle head scientists

Climate Activists are rife...flush them out!

Climate change is a political hoax

They can get stuffed

Obviously not real ones? Perhaps another group like Flannery's retired metro fire chiefs pretending to know about wild fires? FriendsOScience EcoSenseNow

Yes out 1.8% of something close. They can go stick it up their ass!

They going to pay for it ? I think not.

Scientifically speaking Australia voted for 26% emission reduction last election not 50%

Are the Scientists Drunk Australia is good with their emissions..

Tell them to go to go and put a sock in it. Go after the large emitters first. Then when it’s an even playing field we can think about it then.

Australia ignores climate science at it’s peril It’s time to act The cynics on climate science are now a liability ClimateEmergency AustraliaBurning smokehaze hailstorm auspol ClimateActNow

Haha and what scientist are you talking about ? Give us their names and qualifications.

I watched this, great you have reported it. But then this disinformation popped up right after (below) , how are your readers supposed to get a clean, sane understanding?

What specific action or actions are they calling for? Where’s the costing for what they propose? What are the tangible and realised benefits? Please advise all of us the answers as we are the ones that will be financing it.

For the hundredth time! Wake up you LNPClimateCriminals

Please name them and their qualifications.

Im a Scientist! I demand that Democracy be upheld at all costs!

Sure thing as soon as China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc... reduce their emissions down to Australia’s current levels.

Que climate change deniers to belittle science

Which group of scientists ?🧐 FactsMatter But let me guess greens/soros agenda 🥱 SheepNoMore buzz off !!

Peer reviewed or just peer pressure?

Paid scientists? Frauds.

Where is the list last time it had Donald Duck as a scientist

EDIT: A group of Climate Change activists have signed a statement demanding the government act immediately to reduce Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.

Might all be futile if we realise that 1000 years ago the earth was warmer despite just tiny CO2 emissions

Ban them from flying.

Paid by whom?

Australia to deny entry to travellers from China | Sky News AustraliaForeign travellers coming from or passing through mainland China will be denied entry to Australia as the government ramps up its defence against the deadly coronavirus spreading around the globe.\n\nExemptions will be made for Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family as well as aircrews, under strict conditions.\n\n“All travellers arriving out of mainland China, not just Hubei province as has been the case up until now, are being asked and required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days from the time they leave mainland China,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison said.\n\nTravel advice for mainland China has been raised to level four or “do not travel”. Ramps up = finally makes a call, dragged to making the right decision Finally What if people fly from China to another country and then fly to Aus (within 14 days)? Relying on Border Force finding and reading the exit stamp date on the passport? If yes, I hope their maths is goood enough and fast enough especially when the time zone is also a variable.

Australia needs 'a single voice' on coronavirus response | Sky News AustraliaThe Australian Medical Association says Australia's ability to control the rampant coronavirus is being hampered because we do not have a centralised infection control body like other major western countries. \n\nTheir call for a centralised national coordinating centre for infectious disease is also being backed by the Australasian Society for Infectious Disease. \n\nNewscorp National Health Correspondent Sue Dunlevy says 'we need a single voice on this, we've already seen in the last week conflicting messages from state and federal governments about whether kids who have been to China should be able to go to school.'\n\nImage: Getty Nobody trusts the self-serving, highly political AMA any more. 😳 Much like us not having a central bushfire control body. It might have something to do with our Constitution/State rights. Do the AMA propose we re-write the Constitution or have the Federal Govt ask the State Govts to relinquish some of their rights? Good luck with either.
