Venus Williams has won the singles title at Wimbledon five times, including twice before her opponent, 15-year-old Cori Guaff, was even born. Today, Williams was sent packing in the first round by the teen

Before the match, the teenager, known as Coco, had told her Instagram followers: “Two of my teachers found out I played tennis after I made the main draw here.”

The high school student completed a science test during the qualifying tournament and on Monday she aced the ultimate Wimbledon test by beating a player she described as "one of the greatest of all time" in front of a captivated Court One audience. Two successive double faults from Williams handed Gauff a 3-2 advantage, and even when the teen fluffed her lines by handing back that advantage in the eighth game, she did not lose her composure.

While a magnanimous Williams declared that "the sky's the limit" for Gauff, the teenager also paid tribute to her hero.

Serena Williams claims she was unaware Barty is world No.1Serena Williams claims she didn't know Ashleigh Barty was world No.1, but says the Australian ace is 'the sweetest, cutest girl on tour'. I'm surprised she didn't throw a fit because she wasn't handed 1 So, if you know about major attributes like sweet and cute in other players .. but you don’t know about who is No1 in your own sport then you’re telling lies God that's condescending from Serena. I hope Barty absolutely smashes that woman next time they play.
