Premier admits Vic's second wave 'attributable' to failed hotel quarantine system | Sky News AustraliaVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews has admitted the state’s second wave is “attributable to the hotel quarantine system” at a parliamentary hearing into the botched scheme today. \n\n“Genome sequencing demonstrates that at least a significant portion of new cases and the resulting second wave are attributable to the spread of the virus out of the hotel quarantine system, that’s beyond doubt, that point has been very clearly made,” he said. \n\nWhen probed by Member for Polwarth Richard Riordan, Premier Andrews said he took full responsibility for the failed quarantine system, which Mr Riordan described as “the most disastrous economic and social catastrophe in Victorian history”. \n\n“I take responsibility for all of the decisions that are made across our government and the performance of all our agencies,” he said. \n\nMr Riorden also confronted the Premier about reports Minister for Jobs Martin Pakula was responsible for the bungled program, but the Premier refused to confirm the reports or reveal whether the minister would be sacked. \n\nA video leaked today revealed government bureaucrats treated the hotel quarantine system as a “massive inbound super trade mission” before congratulating themselves for the operation, which was reportedly set up just 24 hours before travellers arrived. \n\nVictoria has recorded another 19 deaths and 331 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. DanielAndrewsMP Has he taken responsibility for hiring “diversity” and allowing the BLM march yet? Oh wait, he gave himself a massive raise. I nearly forgot. 🙄 DanielAndrewsMP The media terrorists at it again. DanielAndrewsMP All new cases, though genomic tracing, are linked to hotel quarantining. What a huge, deadly fuck up.

Vic Premier grilled over doctor receiving parking ticket during stage four lockdowns | Sky News AustraliaVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews was caught off-guard when a reporter asked him why an ICU doctor from the Royal Melbourne Hospital received a parking ticket from the City of Melbourne during stage four lockdowns.\n\n'Firstly, firstly, let me follow up on that matter, ah, I'm sure, let me follow up on that matter,' he said.\n\n'I don't think someone who's in there literally saving lives at considerable risk to themselves should be the subject of a parking ticket.'\n\nMr Andrews emphasised parking inspectors did not work for the Victorian government and fewer people were generally parking, pointing to data that suggested traffic was down 40-50 per cent.\n\n'You can't build a perfect system when it comes to these rules,' he said.\n\n'There's no manual on how to shut down a very large part of the Victorian economy.'\n\nThe Premier also said he would look into why parking inspectors were currently considered essential workers. \n\n'I'm not certain all parking inspectors are working across the state - let me follow up on the status of their work,' he said.\n\nMr Andrews said he would personally 'follow up' on the infringement issued to the doctor on duty. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia DanielAndrewsMP Of course he'd be taken off guard. It's a stupid question, oh hang on, that's why he's off guard. Got it. DanielAndrewsMP How the fuck would the Premier know ? ADF personnel 'were on standby to help Vic's botched hotel quarantine program' | Sky News AustraliaA timeline of Defence Department communications shows more than 100 army personnel were on standby to help Victoria's troubled hotel quarantine program, from day one. \n\nPremier Daniel Andrews continues to insist ADF help was never offered, saying “let’s be very clear about this, it has been consistently put to me that me or others have consistently said no to help, that’s simply wrong”. \n\nThe Premier’s claim is backed by Emergency Management Commissioner Andrew Crisp who said “I can confirm that the ADF were involved in the initial planning of the hotel quarantine program… during these discussions I did not seek nor did representatives of the ADF offer assistance as part of the program”. \n\nTheir claims contradict Defence Minister Linda Reynolds, who said the ADF made multiple offers for assistance to Victoria but the offers were turned down for months. \n\nPremier Andrews told an inquiry the botched hotel program was to blame for the state’s deadly second virus wave. \n Andrews👎👎👎 Resign Dan Andrews AND Andrew Crisp. theage 3AW693 7NewsMelbourne 9NewsMelb 10NewsFirstMelb auspol newscomauHQ theheraldsun No way Dan could be lying.
