Russian and Chinese warships have held their first joint patrols in the western part of the Pacific Ocean.Japan said a group of 10 vessels from the two nations sailed through the Tsugaru Strait
The patrols are maintaining "peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region", according to the Russian defence ministry Russia's defence ministry released a statement on Saturday saying that exercises between the two nations were conducted between October 17 and 23.They have cultivated closer military and diplomatic ties in recent years at a time when their relations with the West have soured.The vessels from Russia and China passed through the Tsugaru Strait, near Japan.
