Republican Senator Mitt Romney has joined the chorus of criticism from Democrats angry at United States President Donald Trump for commuting the sentence of long-time friend and former advisor Roger Stone.
The Utah Senator and one-time Presidential nominee tweeted out, "unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president." Mr Stone was convicted of lying to congress and witness tampering as a result of the Russia investigation. He was sentenced to 3 years 4 months prison before President Trump’s intervention.
Stone did nothing wrong, and was the victim of a politicised witch hunt.

Just last week the Supreme Court ruled against a Trump appeal with the Judge noting 'president isn’t above the law'...... commuting the sentence of his long-term friend - ummmm, he obviously is.
