Stimulus spending on new green energy projects creates twice as many jobs per dollar than investments in fossil fuel projects, according to a new study by researchers including the Nobel prize winner Joseph Stiglitz | npomalley

Stimulus spending on new green energy projects creates twice as many jobs per dollar than investments in fossil fuel projects, according to a new study by researchers including the Nobel prize winner Joseph Stiglitz and leading climate economist Nicholas Stern.

Professor Hepburn said that the reductions in carbon emissions and pollution the world had seen since global lockdowns began would be short-lived unless green stimulus measures were immediately adopted. It found that green projects reduce energy costs, further stimulating economies, and that investing in green retrofits of buildings immediately created employment that could not be sent offshore, all to the benefit of local economies.

npomalley Not according to this Michael Moore doco!

Qldaah npomalley qldpol Utter bullshit and lies. Where the hell are these jobs from already operational renewables then huh ?!! Categorically proven renewables is a sham. Even micheal Moore is doing a u turn on his own mates in latest expose.

npomalley Try calculating the amount of energy produced over their life time. The $/kWh is scandalously low for RE:

npomalley That could be because they are still fairly labour intensive and less efficiently managed. Once the market has matured and saturated, that should settle down.

npomalley May create more jobs because they have to keep replacing the solar panels and wind turbines etc but we end up with more wastage and more money has to be spent to continue to replace everything all the time

npomalley Go watch Planet of human guys 😣😣

npomalley Disagree!! FriendsOScience ClimateDN TonyClimate Tony_Heller

npomalley 10% of the workforce is out looking for jobs at the moment - now is the BEST time to to be able to hire exceptional A+ candidates for these green projects before they go into finance!

npomalley Lets go !

npomalley should be a few jobs wiping the dust of the solar panels

npomalley We have to do this!
