Director of the Australian War Memorial Brendan Nelson says Remembrance Day “binds us in the face of adversity born largely by what we’ve seen in military service”.

“Today in modern Australia, Remembrance Day is the day we pause to reflect upon the political, economic and religious freedoms that we enjoy, that have been underwritten for us and delivered by two million Australian men and women who wear and have worn the uniform of

our three service,” he told Sky News. "If we’re not directly affected by fires, I think we have a responsibility to observe a minute of silence at 11am to reflect on the sacrifices and spirit of mateship that binds us in the face of adversity.” Image: News Corp Australia

Cut the BS. They never thought they was fighting for politicians & rich corporate bosses to increase the wage difference between them & low paid workers. They never fought for criminals to be given light sentences. They fought for the Australian pensioner/worker to be treated fair

We do. And we remember the negligent incompetence of the British command who sent so many Australians to an early death.

Which is true. We mourn for all soldiers no matter what cultural, sexual or religious creeds. Lest we forget.

A man of his skills & talents should have been guaranteed a position in the Senate. Theres too much factional\\invisible-hands involved in positions that deny the best people a place in Parliament. He shouldn’t be firming as the favourite. He should be selected. Look at the personal vote the man got. Is this a democracy or not? The people spoke. Politicians should listen.
