The Queensland government will spend 10 months determining how much “affordable” housing will be included on the state government-owned land above the new Woolloongabba train station.
“Investigations into the appropriate supply of social or affordable housing will be undertaken over the next 10 months as part of the detailed planning for the precinct including consideration of public realm, stadium redevelopment and transport connections,” the spokeswoman said. Development of this site needs to be a catalyst for making the surrounding streets/suburb walkable & safe for all users including separated bike/bus lanes plus removal of freeway on/off ramps & one-way streets. Focusing on just the site will be a massive missed opportunity
