The state government will review the proportion of affordable housing units at the state government-owned Woolloongabba site, but 50 per cent of the Gabba site will be open space.

The Queensland government will spend 10 months determining how much “affordable” housing will be included on the state government-owned land above the new Woolloongabba train station.

“Investigations into the appropriate supply of social or affordable housing will be undertaken over the next 10 months as part of the detailed planning for the precinct including consideration of public realm, stadium redevelopment and transport connections,” the spokeswoman said. The Queensland government has committed to turning 50 per cent of the new Gabba precinct into open space, promised byTransport Minister Mark Bailey in November 2021 – when a new interim land-use plan for the Gabba was announced to include Olympic planning – said public input would be sought when the new plan went out for public comment in 2022.

“The community will be able to have its say on the PDA next year when a proposed development scheme is released for public consultation.” “The mayor needs to clarify whether he’s talking about public housing or so-called ‘affordable housing’ which won’t actually be affordable for people on low incomes.”Community Housing Partnership Project.

they are going to build more ugly unit towers for public housing In a pandemic the whole tower would be in lockdown In France public housing units r no go zones or the cops would be pelted by bricks

Development of this site needs to be a catalyst for making the surrounding streets/suburb walkable & safe for all users including separated bike/bus lanes plus removal of freeway on/off ramps & one-way streets. Focusing on just the site will be a massive missed opportunity
