Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar says the Morrison Government’s announcement to beef up regulations for quad bikes will have a “significant impact on injuries and deaths”. Speers

Assistant treasurer Michael Sukkar says the Morrison government’s announcement to beef up regulations for quad bikes will have a “significant impact on injuries and deaths”. “There are about 250,000 quad bikes at present in the market,” he said. “These are very popular devices on farms and for recreational purposes.

“The announcement today by the government that we are accepting the recommendations of the ACCC to ensure within two years new or imported quad bikes have some form of roll-over protection will have a significant impact on injuries and deaths.” Under new guidelines, manufacturers will be required to issue a warning about the risks of the bikes rolling over.
