| Anthony Albanese says Russia is squarely to blame for Australia’s high petrol and food prices, as he argues no-one is immune from the events in Ukraine, regardless of geography.

“We are not dealing with what the Ukrainian people are facing with such courage and determination every day, but Russia’s actions have made it harder even for people in Australia to get by. Mr Albanese says the direct consequences for Australians as a result of the war is why he came to Europe this week to joinand “engage with like-minded countries to seek solutions to these urgent challenges”.

“We’ve got the natural resources, the workforce, the scientific ingenuity, the global networks and the industry expertise. “After successive seasons of unprecedented bushfires and floods, Australians know that the climate crisis is more than just an environmental threat, it’s a threat to our very security.”
