Australia should establish a live, national count of women killed by violence, according to the former head of Victoria’s landmark Royal Commission into Family Violence.
Minister for Women Marise Payne has been asked to set up a real-time count of women killed by violence.Each Australian jurisdiction keeps data on family violence deaths, usually through coronial hearings, court trials or police investigations. But they can be difficult to access, and not always comparable.
These include having to make multiple requests to courts and pay for information that is supposed to be publicly available. Almost three years into the project the group has been unable to get Supreme Court sentencing remarks from the State of Queensland. Ms Price told the forum the counting project is run by three volunteers . They scour the news each day to ensure the count is up-to-date.
Let’s do a count of children murdered by their mothers too.
Yes but we couldn't handle it. We'd rather pretend we don't have issues that need action in this country If it doesn't involve the words economy budget or surplus it's irrelevant to his incompetent self serving cruel Gov't.
Can’t stop violence on our streets harder to stop in the home
Great idea, then compare that stat to the massive numbers of road deaths, drug deaths and male suicides.... then fund them all accordingly.

Isganaitis How about spending the money on housing and protection for the women and the children and whilst you are at it how about educating the pathetic police force with taking cries for help seriously.
Typically, still some men feeling immasculated, 😖 by the voices of women.

Have to say I'm pretty uncomfortable with the idea women killed by violence have more inherent value than men killed by violence.
To not be discriminatory a same live count for males should be done too. Pretty sure the count for the males will quickly far exceed that of the females.
Out of curiosity how about the women men and children as 1 is not above the other or less important than the other
