Police arrest dozens of people as protests in Brisbane's CBD see a catamaran dumped on George Street and a mock funeral held outside State Parliament.

Dozens of people have been arrested in another day of sporadic climate protests staged across the Brisbane CBD.About 300 people stage a mock funeral for the Earth's species endangered by climate changeThe actions were part of what the group Extinction Rebellion has dubbed"international rebellion week".

On Thursday afternoon, about 300 protesters staged a funeral procession to symbolise the death of the planet's species. They marched on Queensland government offices and Parliament House before occupying the busy intersection at George and Margaret streets.A handful of protesters who refused to move on when the walk signal turned red were arrested by police.
