Former Manus Island detainee Behrouz Boochani has criticised the plan to reopen the Christmas Island detention centre, describing the move as 'political propaganda' intended to 'criminalise' asylum seekers. SBSRadio

“They opened this before the [2019] election for propaganda, and now they are doing this again. The refugees are victims under this political propaganda.”

Boochani believes the federal government is “not in a position” to label any asylum seeker or refugee as a criminal or unlawful. Boochani documented life on Manus Island in his book 'No Friend But the Mountains: The True Story of an Illegally Imprisoned Refugee'.“I lived in that system for such a long time, so when they say that these people are criminals, it is completely wrong and they are lying because when someone commits a crime, there is a legal process. They should send them to court and the court would make a decision for them.

SBSRadio Who?

SBSRadio Really who is Behrouz Boochani ?

SBSRadio Nobody cares what this criminal has to say. He's in New Zealand now. I hope he's never given a visa to come here.

SBSRadio Vermin

SBSRadio Great job Scott - deport these criminals now

SBSRadio He's just pissed off because he was on Manus and never got to see Christmas.

SBSRadio Maybe he should now be more concerned with NZ's abysmal record when it comes to refugee resettlements. Last year NZ took in 1,000 refugees and Australia took in 18,750.

SBSRadio Get it right they illegal aliens....

SBSRadio Why does SBS continue to give this country shopping pseudo refugee a platform? He is NZ now after skipping on his visitor visa. So why does he continue to get media time in Australia by a publicly funded broadcaster?

SBSRadio Who cares what Behrouz thinks?

SBSRadio Who gives a shit what he has to say , lot of countries between Turkey 🇹🇷 and Australia 🇦🇺 so why didn’t he stay in one of those countries. Queue jumper. Piss off .

SBSRadio He should go hand himself in to show solidarity

SBSRadio Who gives a crap what he has to say?

SBSRadio Why is this person's opinion relevant to Australia?

SBSRadio Stop giving this guy air time

SBSRadio Is he speaking out against his country of origin government? They must have treated him real nice that's why he fled.

Ardent Leisure handed $70 million Government loan to reopen Gold Coast theme parksThe Queensland Government hands Dreamworld's parent company a $70 million funding boost to reopen after the pandemic forced them to close their doors for several months. I'll drink to that 🍻 You're kidding. Hopefully they will be sued out of existence, sooner rather than later. Good money wasted. You are kidding? Well evidently making money is more important for the wealthiest than taking care of the disadvantaged

Queensland Premier considers court action to stop Brisbane protestQueensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk considers court action to block a planned Saturday protest against refugee detention, saying it could take the state backwards amid the coronavirus pandemic. AnnastaciaMP COVID19Aus CovidQLD If protesters are outdoors and wear masks the risk of infection by COVID19 is very low. We know this from looking back at BLM protests. Indoor restaurants, pubs, schools are much more dangerous. Queensland Premier, the hypocritical Hitler wannabe allowed 30,000 BLM protesters in June but this protest she wants court action? 🖕🖕 Probably, attending BLM protest can be the miracle covid cure! Premier is correct: stop the protests. When will protesters learn that they are generating huge amount of bad will, NOT support? Opposite to what they should be wanting. Outdoor risk is lower but still there. No different to big footy crowds or BBQs. Protesters are covidiots
