Prime Minister Scott Morrison has urged the states to ease rules that could force employers to require daily virus tests for millions of workers, as he acknowledged the “natural anger” in the community over soaring infections and chronic test kit shortages.
The clash over test supplies came after Mr Morrison admitted Australians were frustrated over the summer outbreak but said other countries were under the same pressure. “We accept our share of the responsibility when it comes to providing the tests that we are responsible to provide. States and territories have always had the responsibility [for] providing those tests in their states,” he said.
But there is confusion over the obligation on employers to test their workers under the public health orders and the workplace safety laws in each state and territory. Ai Group chief executive Innes Willox said the RAT kit shortage made it impossible for some employers to meet some of the state requirements.

CroweDM My neighbour has Covid. Apparently contracted at a super market. Aged in his early 50s (self-employed) he is at significant risk because he has battled severe asthma for most of his life. It is simply not good enough for politicians to assume a 'she'll be right, mate' approach!!!

lynlinking CroweDM My brother tested +ve during the morning last Thursday 13/1. He was still testing positive yesterday afternoon the 19/1. That is over 6 days. Isolation must remain at a minimum of 7 days. 5 days is too short and will help the virus spread increasing our rate of infection.
