The AFP have been notified after Prime Minister Scott Morrison and two senators received a letter detailing an allegation of historical rape against a Cabinet Minister.

In a statement today to Four Corners, Ms Hanson-Young said: "This morning I received information regarding a disturbing and a very serious allegation of a criminal nature against a senior member of the government.

"I have also written to the Prime Minister and Senator Hanson-Young to outline the steps I have taken, following receipt of this anonymous letter," Senator Wong said.South Australia Police are investigating the circumstances of the woman's death for the State Coroner. "When news of [the complainant's alleged] rape becomes widely known to the public , legitimate questions will be asked as to who knew what, when they knew and what they did," the correspondent wrote."In [the complainant's] case, the loss of respect for our political institutions will be exacerbated by the aggravating factor of [the accused perpetrator's seniority].

The woman had also written in 2019 to former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, and he too wrote to South Australia Police with his knowledge of the allegation upon learning of her death.

'unroll'

And they don’t give a crap....🤷🏻‍♀️

SabraLane Oh boy! Summers ended and It’s gettin’ hot.

All I can think of is Kathy Sherriff, and how the ABC utterly supressed her voice like a gag - I also think how the office of prosecution closed the door with so much more evidence than we see now. No wonder women don't feel free to speak up.

LNP Mysoginistic mentality.

On once again, Scott Morrison is yet to even acknowledge any part of this scandal...

Our Prime Monster should find out about them in a couple of years.

Or we let due process occur like in every alleged account

Hey guys, here's another allegation just published in The Australian. What's Tanya going to do about this? Should her colleague immediately stand down. Can the AFP interview the person making the allegation?

Bare with me folks, I’ve just got to go and ask Jenny whether this is bad or not

Bill Shorten?

PatsKarvelas To me the real conversation is that Sexual abuse occurs within both private and public sector. It is not isolated to Parliament. I have a story as well but that is my story. To me cultural change has to start within in our own homes from the bringing of life then in education.

leftboomer This Morrison government is becoming more untenable by the day.. it's a never ending disclosure of sexual assaults.. and mishandling of life saving vaccinations.. not to mention the gifts of millions to LNP donors

Timing is everything.

My pick initials AT......

Who is it 😳😳😳

And AlboMP & tanya_plibersek still refuse to acknowledge or respond to Kathy Sherriff’s personal email to them to review her allegations of sexual assault by billshortenmp . All they have to do is respond. Why haven’t they Any Labor supporters want to enlighten us

Just seen a disgraceful, mudslinging attempt at a story on this by a stumbling journalist on ABC Brisbane. Allegations.

It is not an 'historical' rape allegation, it is a rape allegation.

Is Bill Shorten in cabinet?

Quick! Build a cubby house. Announce something, anything - tax cuts, a new stadium, overhaul of government shredding machines. Photo op next to a sports star, puff piece in the Daily Telegraph? Why can't these guys think of anything? The PM's only got 60 media advisers!

That poor woman ... couldn’t live with the trauma 😢

search by cabinet minister and then state

So if ‘South Australia Police are investigating the circumstances of the woman's death for the State Coroner’ does this mean the woman lived there her whole life. There’s only one male cabinet minister from SA and that’s Simon Birmingham

Call an election now. This government has lost credibility

We don't know the name of the accused rapist, but we do know the names of every male in the Federal Cabinet. As it stands they are all suspects.

Who is it?

This story is full of heresay and innuendo. Please report something when you and the police have evidence of a crime.

Pathetic, absolutely pathetic that this bullshit happens in what is supposed to be an advanced society. I guess sex crimes will always exist in a shroud of darkness forever more.

You we all say in unison “witch hunt”.

So not surprised..... sickened, but not surprised.

AFP letter to PM warns delay in MPs reporting crimes could lead to reoffendingThe Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner writes to Prime Minister Scott Morrison, warning about delays in politicians reporting criminal conduct. no shit AFP!! The alleged offender is still out there roaming free in the community - it's been 2 years. Well, at least one MP knew of a rape, they didn't report it and the same guy committed three more rapes, so yeah, not reporting them is a free pass to the rapists should have sent the letter to Jen so she can explain it to him.
