Australian Defence Association executive director Neil James said the AWM should put something up "fairly soon" acknowledging the report.Mr Anderson, who spent 2015 and 2016 in Afghanistan as a diplomat, said he had been "thinking heavily and deeply" about how to respond to the Brereton report since its release last Thursday.

The Afghanistan exhibition at the Australian War Memorial includes a wall signed by thousands of veterans who served in Tarin Kowt. His initial thoughts include making the report available through the AWM's archives and approaching Justice Brereton to give an oral history about how he conducted the inquiry. He also intends to make sure there is space for "appropriate treatment" in the new galleries once they are complete.

Meanwhile, Liberal MP and former SAS officer Andrew Hastie has called for more parliamentary oversight of Defence."You can't treat it like any other government policy … we sent guys back over and over and over again. War can't be waged without committing war crimes, the question is why were they there. Evertime the Australian Gov proposes going to war it should be put to a referendum requiring 51% approval of all eligible voters. Of course this would never happen because wars are political

Decency would require to await the outcome of a judicial process. However, a 'guilty' verdict in the trial-by-media circus is now enough to convict. Pathetic.

WarCrimes ? the argument could be made. BLM too! Memorials? Why do the ethnic Western community of Australians sacrifice themselves in the shitholes of Europe and the Middle East? Is that why they came from their Traditional Lands of the West of Whites only? The chances that Special Forces will be 'reluctant' to obey their political masters in the future grows daily with this incessant onslaught on the profession of arms.

Disgraced Peter Handcock deserves no war memorial honourLieutenant Peter Handcock is a convicted war criminal who murdered without mercy and his name does not belong on any war memorial honour roll. Peter_Fitz All those who killed did so without mercy in all wars as they acted for land thieves and religious leaders not humanity and nothing done was done to benefit humanity Peter_Fitz One is left to wonder if this is mostly just an opportunity to plug Peters latest book Peter_Fitz Thank you for bringing this into the light. Australians and Kiwis are so proud of their participation in the British Empire, that they gloss over the events that took place during Boer War.
