Want to own a piece of motor racing history? 9News

Fifty years ago a young Brock – racing for the Holden Dealer Team – drove a HT Monaro GTS 350 to third place in the Bathurst 1000 endurance race.GraysOnline will auction the car at 4.30pm on Friday, September 20. The closing bid will be at 8.35pm on Wednesday, September 25.

A file photo of Peter Brock, right, and motor racing commentator Murray Walker. Brock died in a car accident in 2006. The Monaro has been painstakingly restored and includes the driving legend's 1969 livery. Since its restoration in the mid 2000s, the vehicle has been displayed at the Peter Brock Experience on the Gold Coast.

"This car is a genuine piece of Australian auto sports classic memorabilia. We expect a lot of interest from collectors and motorsport enthusiasts alike," said Chris Corbin, CEO at GraysOnline.
