Labor has echoed criticisms over Turkey's decision to enter Syria but differed from the Coalition by stating the government should call out US President Donald Trump over the decision to remove troops from the region.
Shadow Foreign Minister Penny Wong noted it is "true that this is military action forged by Turkey", however said it has been "enabled by the decision of the Trump Administration to withdraw US forces from northern Syria". Turkey maintains its presence in Syria is an attempt to ensure no 'terror corridor' is established along the Turkish border as well as bringing peace to Syria.
