Pearce called into Blues side for Origin decider as Cleary ruled out | SMHsport

Cleary had been endeavouring to overcome an injury he sustained in the Blues' victory in game two in Perth but was scratched from the decider on Wednesday afternoon.

It is understood he ran for the first time on an anti-gravity treadmill at 75 per cent of his body weight on Wednesday morning.Pearce's inclusion comes as a surprise, given he was in the frame to play in Origin I and Origin II before withdrawing due to niggling injuries.Clint Gutherson was initially named as 18th man and was expected to be called into the team if Cleary was unable to prove his fitness.
