Nurses and midwives on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic say they will join a public blockade to save a former Parramatta maternity home from the bulldozers.to halt the demolition of the two historic buildings to make way for the new Powerhouse Museum in Parramatta and say it won't let it happen "without a fight".

A report prepared on behalf of Infrastructure NSW recommended the development of the new Powerhouse on the banks of the Parramatta River proceed anyway as the public benefits of western Sydney's first major, world-class cultural institution outweighed heritage concerns and the loss of the local community's sense of place.
