The Country Liberal Party has urged Northern Territory voters to put Labor as their last preference in the upcoming election as they fight to upturn Labor's majority seat.

The Country Liberal Party has urged Northern Territory voters to put Labor as their last preference in the upcoming election as they fight to upturn Labor's majority seat. Fellow conservative NT party Territory Alliance is yet to announce their preferences however a number of candidates indicated they would also preference Labor last.

The conservative vote was previously split as the CLP preferenced Labor over Territory Alliance in the February by-election, however CLP President Rob Kelly recently issued a statement which backflipped on previous preferences, saying the party was "fighting to win majority government". "We are advocating that voters put Labor last in every seat," he said. Labor would have to lose four seats in order to lose its majority government.
