New South Wales has recorded 282 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and one death.

Meanwhile, a day after all NSW students returned to face-to-face teaching, eight more schools are closed for cleaning and contact tracing after a person in the school community was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Exams begin on 9 November and NSW Health says a suite of measures will be enforced to ensure COVID-19 protocols are observed. After the exams students will be required to wipe down their chair, and no mingling will be permitted before or after. The majority of COVID-19 cases are now being diagnosed in the regions and smaller cities, rather than in Sydney where the Delta outbreak first took hold. The caseload is highest in the Hunter New England local health district, which had the most cases of any district in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday - 59. It recorded 53 cases the day before, down from 78 the previous day.

There is also a notable surge in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, which takes in the Snowy Mountains and the Riverina region in the state's southwest. That area reported 46 new cases on Monday, 47 on Sunday and 37 on Saturday.

Absolutely ridiculous, we need to go back to lockdowns immediately. It was way too early to relax. Until the first couple of boosters come out, and 90% of people get them, we need to continue to stay at home. Unnecessary and selfish to put people at risk now. Professor Bennett needs to explain why you have a 50% better chance of surviving COVID by being in NSW? Is that We should have abolished this lockdown months ago. Queensland records zero new COVID-19 cases as state hits 60pc vaccine milestoneQueensland has recorded zero new COVID-19 cases as the state achieved its 60 per cent double dose vaccination milestone. 20% to go. Let’s get this done QLD. Praying for 90% so I don’t have to go through the trauma of PCR testing ever time I fly o/s, as I’m highly phobic of anything medical and it’s not a quick/straightforward thing for me. Ok tell me how dangerous is this Covid? How come when you get two vaccines, you can still get it & transmit it and you still need a booster shot maybe for ever! Why would anyone with a healthy immune system get a vaccine? You work for sociopaths, psychopaths and what do you think they will do when your job is done?
