NSW only 10 per cent away from hitting 70 per cent vaccine milestone

More than two million COVID-19 jabs were administered in the past seven days, with Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt declaring Australia was on track for a “record” vaccination week.

“Our most vulnerable population is our most protected population, and indeed 99 per cent of our residential aged care workers have been vaccinated.” There was more good news for NSW residents waiting to hit the 70 per cent vaccine target, with the state edging closer to its ‘freedom day’. The Commonwealth brokered a deal with Pfizer for an early release of its vaccine which would see one million jabs hit Australian shores every week between August and December.

The surge in vaccine supply has assisted each state’s rollout with Victoria and New South Wales setting vaccination targets to trigger an exit from lockdown restrictions.
