Berejiklian government ministers and MPs have endorsed banning single-use plastic bags, despite opposing Labor's bill to implement a ban within six months.

Berejiklian government ministers and MPs have endorsed banning single-use plastic bags, despite opposing Labor's bill to implement a ban within six months.

"Every single week that they refuse to act, 234,000 additional plastic bags will enter our rivers and waterways. That is 1 million more plastic bags every month discarded into our streets and gutters where they will sit for the next 1000 years," Ms McKay said. It is likely to be defeated by the government when it comes to vote, which is likely to occur next week.

"We, of course, need to ban the bag," Mr Elliott said, adding: "It needs to be part of a comprehensive, plastics strategy."

'We will not': NSW Premier doubles down on pill testing despite recommendationGladys Berejiklian has again ruled out the prospect of pill testing at music festivals despite a leaked draft coroner's report recommending the move. Good on Gladys. NoPillTesting I've been recommended a vegan diet so many times I can't count. At no point did I seriously consider these recommendations as a 'Healthy Option'. The Premier is rightly doing the same here and she should be commended for standing up to these morons.
